Art Roundup: Weekend of June 26 – 27


56 small oil paintings by Kimberly Reed will go on display during the artist’s show 56 at The Butcher opening Friday, June 26. Each of the pieces will sell for $56. Bodies of Work opens at Sulfur Studios on June 27th with a workshop called “You Don’t Have to Feel Like Shit” from 1-3pm. An opening reception for the exhibition follows from 7 – 9pm. The Spitfire Poetry Group hosts their monthly Open Mic & Showcase on Saturday, June 27 at 8pm at Muse Arts Warehouse. (Arrive at 7pm to sign up to spit.) The evening will feature Jamaal St. John and JustMeThePoet. Click here for more information.



Call for Entries: QuoLab is looking for works that deal with patriotism (or lack thereof) for their July 3rd event/exhibition, F*** the Founding Fathers, on Friday, July 3 from 3 – 9:30pm. The deadline for entries is Sunday, June 28. The event will feature an exhibition of submitted works, live music, a mini workshop on budgeting and financial techniques, art activities and food. Work by Dicky Stone and Dana Richardson remains up at the Hospice Savannah Art Gallery through June 30. Richardson exhibits small-scale Savannah landscapes in oil, collage and mixed media. Stone displays wooden sculptures created from pecan, sycamore and maple woods. A portion of the sales will benefit the hospice’s Daily Impact Fund. Click here for more information.

Michael Banks’ show remains up at Gallery Espresso through July 1. Banks is a self-taught painter whose works are all executed on salvaged wood and etched with a razor. All works on display are for sale. Click here for more information.



Savannah Drink & Draw hosts their 2nd Anniversary Celebration on Thursday, July 2 from 8 – 10pm at Abe’s on Lincoln. Drink & Draw is a monthly get-together/networking event where artists can come together, drink, draw and socialize. Click here for more information.
