Art Roundup – Week of Sept. 25 – Oct. 1

The “The World We Want” public art project continues at Southbound Brewery on Friday, September 25 from 5:30 – 9:30pm and Saturday, September 26 from 2 – 6pm. Come out and add your thoughts to the wall. Click here to learn more about the project.

 

Emergent Savannah is sponsoring a call for entries to Voting Block, an exhibition of politically-conscious works to be displayed at Sulfur Studios from October 22 – 25th. The call is open until October 12. A $250 prize will be awarded to the first place winner of the show. Click here to enter.

 

SCAD’s annual Alexander Ink show opens on Friday, September 25 from 6 – 8pm. The award ceremony begins at 6:30pm. Click here for more information.

Muse Arts Warehouse will hold their first Story Slam on Friday, September 25 at 8pm. This event (modeled after The Moth) is intended for people aged 18 and over. The cost of attendance for listeners is $10; storytellers pay $5. Click here for more information.

 

The Savannah Bazaar will be held at its new home, Jelinek Creative Spaces, on Saturday, September 26 from 3 – 8pm. Come out for food, live entertainment, and plenty of art vendors. Click here for more information.

 

The Gretchen Greene School of Dance will hold their annual Company Showcase on Saturday, September 26 at 6pm at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. Click here for more information.

“Blues Trinity: A Tribute to the 3 Kings” debuts at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts on Thursday, October 1 at 7:30pm. The concert will feature Savannah musicians paying homage to the “3 Kings” of the blues: Albert, Freddie, and B.B. King. Click here for more information or to buy tickets.
