Art Roundup: Week of Aug 28 – Sept 3

Today (Friday, August 28) is the last day to submit entries to Sulfur Studios’ upcoming group exhibition Body and Mind. The exhibition will be on display in September 2015. Artists are asked to submit work that deals with the intersection of physical and mental experiences. Entries are due by midnight. Click here for more details.

 

Head down to Sulfur Studios on Sunday, August 30 for a workshop in personal brand development led by Leslie Walsh of Gifted Creative Group titled “Pricing & Contracts for Freelancers”. The workshop will begin at 2pm and conclude at 4pm. This workshop is designed to help freelancers develop their own contracts and understand pricing, negotiations, and client management. Have a piece of writing you’d like to workshop? Bring it to the Guild Hall on Sunday, August 30 at 5pm for Write Club. Participants will critique each other’s work and engage in a few short writing exercises together. Click here for more information.

 

Feminist essayist and professor of English at Purdue University Roxanne Gay will be giving a free lecture on Thursday, September 3 at 7pm at the Trinity United Methodist Church. A reception and book signing will follow the lecture at 8pm. Click here for more information.
