Oglethorpe Gallery (406 E. Oglethorpe Ave.) will host the opening reception for Pretty Good Pictures, a group exhibition by the students in SCAD’s Large Format II photography class, on Friday, February 26 from 6 – 9pm. SIP: A Ceramic Cup Show opens at Non-Fiction Gallery (1522 Bull St.) on Friday, February 26 with a reception from 6 – 9pm. The exhibition, organized by Mitzi Davis in cooperation with the Savannah Clay Community, features over 100 functional ceramic mugs, yunomi, pour-overs and more from local clay artists and artists across the nation. 10% of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Emmaus House to help feed the hungry. Entries into the Sixth Annual Savannah Stopover Music Festival Poster Competition must be in by midnight tonight (Friday, February 26)! The Sixth Annual A-Town Get Down Festival is finally here! The all-day festival kicks off on Saturday, February 27 from noon – midnight at the Charles H. Morris Center Trustee’s Garden (10 E Broad St.). This year’s festival includes hands-on art projects, ceramics, the Adobe Digital Arts Lab, and performances from bands like Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Paris Monster, Gill Landry (of Old Crow Medicine Show), Infallible Funk and more! The festival is free until 5pm and then ticket prices become $25 per person or $15 for students or military. Click here for more information.


Starlandia Supply (2438 Bull St.) will host a “Drawing With Graphite” workshop hosted by Tom Perkins on Saturday, February 27 from noon – 2pm. The workshop will include two 30 minute demos during which Tom will demonstrate various techniques. The workshop fee is $5 for supplies. Click here for more information.


The February Savannah Bazaar is on Saturday, February 27 from 3 – 8pm at Jelinek Creative Spaces (101 Fahm St.)! There will be a dance party with DJ Basik Lee from 6 – 8pm and plenty of great vendors, food, drinks, local art and more in between. Click here for more information.


CinemaSavannah will host a screening of Mustang (2015) on Saturday, February 27 at 6pm at SPACE Gallery (9 West Henry St.). Mustang tells the story of five orphan girls who, after being caught innocently playing with boys on the beach, become confined by their conservative guardians while forced marriages are arranged. Starlandia Supply continues their “Power Hour Workshops” series with a Zine Making workshop led by Liz Rhaney on Wednesday, March 2 at 2pm. The workshop will begin with an overview of the creating/printing process and will showcase different forms of art – from writing to photography, drawing, collage and beyond. Drink & Draw presents a themed Spaghetti Western Night on Thursday, March 3 from 8 – 10pm at Abe’s on Lincoln. This monthly/bi-monthly get-together rounds up local artists for cocktails and drawing fun. For this event, artists are invited to come out and draw anything western or Sergio Leone related.
