Art RoundUp: April 8 – 14

Juliana Peloso’s latest exhibition, I’m Your Biggest Fan, opens at Location Gallery (417 Whitaker St.) on Friday, April 8 with a reception from 5 – 8pm. The exhibit features recent oil painting portraits of celebrity figures. Proceeds from the event will be donated to One Love Animal Rescue. Click here for more information.

Erica Luedtke’s new exhibition of large scale paintings, Selador, opens at Non-Fiction Gallery (1522 Bull St.) on Friday, April 8 with a reception from 6 – 9pm. The work seeks to examine the relationship between figure and ground through the formal qualities of color and scale. Click here for more information.

Starlandia Supply (2438 Bull St.) continues its bi-monthly workshop series for kids and adults, Starlandia Art Stars, with a Construction Paper Mosaic workshop on Saturday, April 9 from 10am – noon. The two-hour workshop will demo using construction paper and a variety of adhesives to make colorful collages. The cost is $5 to cover supplies. Click here for more information.

The Second Saturday Savannah Art Walk returns on Saturday, April 9 starting at 4pm at the Top Deck Savannah in the Cotton Sail Hotel (125 W River St.). Everyone’s favorite annual event returns on Sunday, April 10 from 1 – 4pm: the Flannery O’Connor Parade & Street Fair! This lively celebration of the acclaimed author and Savannah native features crafts, cake, live music and more in Lafayette Square. The parade begins at 3pm. Click here for more information.

Telfair Museums’ inaugural Telfair in Bloom event (“a festival of art and flowers”) kicks off with a reception on Thursday, April 14 from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the Telfair Academy (121 Barnard St.). Guests are invited to view work by local designers and lavish floral arrangement interpretations of iconic Telfair artwork. The cost is $85 per person. Click here for more information.
